Summit County & Breckenridge Real Estate Market Conditions - May 18, 2010

The busy real estate sales season is beginning in Breckenridge & Summit County and buyer’s market conditions still persist. Inventory has taken a significant upturn in the last two months. In mid-April there were 1615 listings in Summit County. Today there are 1641 real estate residential listings for sale in Summit County. Inventory in Breckenridge’s real estate market has risen to 747. This is roughly 100 more than Breckenridge’s inventory this time of year in 2009.

Throughout the winter the real estate inventory in Summit County was on a gradual and promising decline. This recent surge is a typical trend as the majority of new listings and real estate sales take place in the summer months.

Real estate values are holding better in Breckenridge & Summit County verses other areas of the country, but there is still a gradual overall decline in real estate prices. The end results of the summer sales season will be a major indicator in the direction or recovery of the real estate market in Breckenridge & Summit County, Colorado.
